how does a black hole work ?

For as far as I understand, it is a distortion of space and time, as is everything that has mass and thus a gravitational pull, but in the case of a black hole there is such an immense density that it has a gravitational pull well beyond our imagination, sucking in everything around it - even light.

  1. k9s-xjs-qts said: actually black holes do not suck. the are infinitely small and infinitely dense and everything gets “sucked” in because of the gravity. the reason black holes are black is because light can not escape the gravity.
