Hi Dean! My girlfriend is about to be diagnosed by psychologists, most likely with bipolar syndrome. She's often down when I'm not physically around to comfort her, but I'm always trying my best to make her feel a bit more positive about the day, and I make sacrifices that benefits her. And strangely enough, I'm fine with that. But how far could a person blame on a mental disorder as an excuse for their actions? Where does mental disorders end, and where does the self start? Hope I make sense :P
That’s a very hard question, at least for me, but I would suspect even for psychologists with impeccable credentials. It is entirely up to the person’s integrity whether or not he/she will stay honest about what’s in their hands or not and when they’re simply being unreasonable.
